FAIR BEAUTY SOCIAL ENTERPRISE

WHAT IS FAIR BEAUTY SOCIAL ENTERPRISE?

FAIR BEAUTY is a social enterprise part of AFESIP (Acting for Women in Distressing Circumstances) project fighting against the causes and consequences of human trafficking in Laos, South-East Asia.

FAIR BEAUTY social enterprise is a training and income generating activity that supports former victims of trafficking to return to a normal life through a sustainable reintegration process (financial independence).

Due to the psychological condition of women rescued and the low self-esteem which often results, it is important not only to provide psychological and medical support, but to provide skills through vocational training programs so women can learn to be self-sufficient and regain stability in their lives.

FAIR BEAUTY'S OBJECTIVES

FAIR BEAUTY's ultimate objective is to support the empowerment of former female victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation.

FAIR BEAUTY works with one of the most vulnerable and marginalised groups of Laos society; women who have been victims of sexual exploitation, many of whom have no family or community support to help with their reintegration process.

By giving women job opportunities in Fair Trade conditions and frameworks, FAIR BEAUTY can support their economic, social and psychological empowerment to foster sustainable independence.

Organics

Fair Beauty is a new range of organic beauty products created in partnership with the Lao Organic Product Promotion Association (LOPPA) and AFESIP Social Enterprise (ASE) to empower nature, Lao women and consumers from all over the world.

EMPOWER nature.

Organic products use ingredients that are grown or produced without chemicals or artificial stimulants. Being natural, ingredients are friendly to the skin and less likely to have negative side effects. This means the benefits come from the earth, not a laboratory.

Surrounded by one of the richest natural environments in the world, Lao women have been using natural recipes for generations to enhance their beauty and health; recipes that LOPPA has spent the last decade reviving for the benefit of all of us.

EMPOWER women.

Handcrafted by rehabilitated victims of human trafficking, this activity is no charity. These women have been vocationally trained and professionally employed by LOPPA through ASE.

Beyond sustainable reintegration, ASE aims to fight the impact of poverty on women in Laos; a phenomenon making them more vulnerable to the false promises of traffickers. By creating small business structures, vocational training and employment, ASE is empowering women in an innovative and sustainable manner

EMPOWER yourself.

Our products are produced and sold following Fair Trade principles. Fair Trade is an ethical alternative to traditional commerce in developing countries, seeking sustainable development and justice for both producers and consumers.

What’s the best part?

28% of the money you spend on our products goes directly to ASE beneficiaries, cutting out the middlemen and maximising the benefits for the workers. Visit Fair Beauty Ethics and Tranparency to find out more.
